Tazorac is a third generation reinoid and the most powerful version of a retinoid. In the late 1990s, Tretinoin, a first generation reinoid also known as retin-A was often prescribed for treating acne and had anti-wrinkle affects too but those benefits weren't evident until the 2000s.
